MIAMI ART BASEL | FirsT & LAST ?
Miami Art Basel ( not basil) has been on my bucket list for a hot minute. I finally got to experience it just as the year sums up.
Overall thoughts, The actual exhibits was what I was really excited about but I will say the lines and traffic took away from this experience quite a bit. We stayed in brickell, less than 5 mins away from Brickell city center (if you love to shop like me, the block is hot :D and dangerous for your bank account.) Although tempting, Staying focused I managed to stay on task and let art be the focal point of my weekend.
Faena Beach
MAZE: JOURNEY THROUGH THE ALGORITHMIC SELF' BY SEBASTIAN ERRAZURIZ The maze was located on south beach, we arrived pretty early to beat the crowd but still stood in line for about 10-15 mins. The inside of the maze was short lived, you can easily get through it in under 3 minutes. Once you get to the middle you there was a small bar area in the middle of the sand, I guess I was expecting more but truthfully you can only do so much in sand. It was cool to see a life size maze and be inside it, I won’t knock that .
Super Blue Miami
Now this wasn’t apart of art Basel but just an exhibit I’ve been wanting to explore— this was dope and we had A LOT of fun. I think the immersive and interaction of this museum made it worth while you. You really got to experience different depths of art and just have fun.

Everyday People Miami
This was the first everyday people party I’ve attended and it was LIT! The crowd and the music was spot on and it was a full blown vibe. The funniest part of this was being able to tell peoples age by the very stiff shoulder moves, the 2-step ( which I’ve mastered) and the one leg shake lol. Post covid obviously big crowds aren’t for everyone but this was great to be surrounded by music, spread out and vibing.
Will I Return ?
Now let’s talk about the traffic, the traffic in Miami really did it for me as it was extremely absurd during Art Basel. It took us 1hr 30 mins to get back to our spot leaving south beach and even in wynwood/ Miami art district It was all very much chaotic bumper to bumper to get anywhere. Would I go again ? If i can avoid the traffic and the lines yes, otherwise i am complete.
